Since its proposal in 2013, the BRI has been evolved from notion and vision into action and reality, bearing numerous fruits in the past decade. Besides, Chinese private enterprises are deemed a vital impetus for the BRI. For this reason, E-GetS actively responds to the call of the nation and closely follows the footsteps of the Initiative. In 2018, by virtue of its unique business model and strategic insights, as well as drawing China’s experience in internet and software development, E-GetS started its operation in the Southeast Asian market.
As of now, E-GetS has more than 2m registered users, nearly 40,000 merchants, and over 3,000 delivery men. It has created thousands of career opportunities in Cambodia, Laos, and other BRI countries and provided local employees with social, medical, health insurances, and pension funds. Additionally, to boost the internet growth in SEA, E-GetS has trained and retained a galaxy of talents. Overall, the company has effectively improved the quality of local life services and stimulated the economic progress in a sustainable and innovative way.
In Cambodia, E-GetS has launched an in-depth cooperation program with the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC). The company has introduced agriproducts officially recommended and authenticated by the MPTC onto its platform with the aim to promote such premium local specialties via e-commerce. It is also worth mentioning that E-GetS, as the first Chinese incubator for technological talents under the China-Cambodia partnership, will assist the Cambodian government to cultivate internet specialists. In the form of government-enterprise collaboration, both sides will accelerate the local e-commerce process as well as propel the development of IT and talents throughout the country.
Beyond that, E-GetS has also fulfilled its corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Cambodia. It has launched a dozen campaigns in the name of its public-benefit project themed “WE ARE ONE WITH E-GETS”, including aids to the pandemic-affected slum dwellers, donations of materials (worth several hundred thousand dollars) to the General Department of Taxation and the General Department of Customs and Excise, as well as charity meal delivery. By contributing to Cambodia’s public benefit affairs, E-GetS continues to send love and care to the local community.
In the next chapter, with “Enjoy Easy Life” as our concept, E-GetS will unceasingly diversify our services and build a one-stop life service system to drive the digital life in SEA. Also, we hope more professionals would join us, so that we could altogether create a bright future for the BRI undertakings.
